I've always wanted to create stained glass, so this year I went for it. I bought two panes of really interestingly marbled glass and went for it. I drew a sketch of a human heart and put it on the backdrop of ocean waves.
It's called "The Wave"
What I was not expecting was how time consuming and specific glass cutting and assembly would be. The soldering process was very fickle, and I got a lot better at soldering, but I think I was using the wrong kind (I just used good ol' electrical solder because I didn't invest in jewelry solder). And the tolerance stack-up of mistakes in solder meant that even after I cut all my pieces to (as close as I could to) perfection, they didn't nestle nicely. And that's if I could cut it nicely. Glass cutting is hard, and lots of one-piece concave shapes are impossible sadly.
So the heart has a few holes in it, but whose heart isn't broken a little bit?
