For a year and a half, I was the PM and research assistant on an AR project for language learning called "Jajan!" I led biweekly meetings between key stakeholders (PI, SWE, pedagogy teams) and led the timeline for finding and fixing bugs, as well as implementing new features.
I created tutorial videos for the end users (as seen below), and designed the logo, as well as wireframed the final website. I was also a researcher and on the pedagogy team, developing new scenarios that I would create within the app and test with language learning students to get feedback and fix bugs on. I created new scenes that broke the "study abroad / immersion" mold- in addition to "traveling" (virtually) to the Eiffel Tower, students could go underwater and complete tasks and games to interact with turtles and fish, learn colors, and ocean words. I developed single-user scenarios and with the connectivity of this app between users, created multiple user scenarios - role playing in a cat cafe, and teaching a potions class in Hogwarts, for example.
There was a lot I did for this project that I don't have pictures for, managerial work, liaising between teams, and working timelines to deliver a quality product.
In the Fall of 2015, I traveled to Tokyo to present my research to a group of teachers who would use the technology in their English classes with kindergarten aged students. It was really exciting and gave me a chance to use my Japanese speaking skills in person!
